Office Furniture Installation Services for a Government Contractor

ICR is a professional services firm specializing in program management, engineering, and technical support for government and defense agencies. When their Chantilly, VA facility required a full buildout of new office furniture across both secure and non-secure spaces, the project called for more than a delivery crew. It required office furniture installation services capable of managing cross-country logistics, coordinating a multi-day installation, and working within the strict access requirements of a SCIF environment.
  • Project Date: August 2025

The Challenge

ICR's Chantilly, VA facility needed to be fully furnished from the ground up. The scope included 88 height-adjustable desks, 14 POD spaces with cubicle stations, 2 training rooms with flip-top training tables and chairs, and 4 conference rooms, all of which required full installation. The added complexity was the environment itself. A portion of the project took place inside a SCIF, a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility used by government and defense organizations to handle classified work. These spaces have strict protocols governing access, personnel, and how work is conducted within them. Beyond the security requirements, all furniture had to be transported from Denver, CO, to Chantilly, VA, before a single piece could be installed, making logistics coordination just as critical as the installation work itself.

The Strategy

Our team built the project plan around two phases: getting the furniture there and getting it installed right.

The first priority was transportation and coordination. As a full-service commercial moving company, we managed the full transport of new office furniture from our Denver, CO, base to Chantilly, VA. Coordinating an out-of-state delivery of this scale required careful staging, organized loading, and clear communication with the client on arrival timing so the installation team could move straight into the buildout without delays.

The second priority was the installation itself. Our crew was on-site in Chantilly for six days executing the full commercial office furniture installation across both SCIF and non-SCIF spaces. Working in a SCIF requires following strict site protocols. Our team was prepared for that environment and completed the work without incident. Each space was treated according to its requirements, from open-office POD configurations to training rooms and conference spaces, ensuring every piece was placed, assembled, and finished correctly.

Throughout the project, our focus stayed on keeping the timeline intact and the installation organized across a large, multi-room facility.
